I might feel compelled to part with my loose change if I could store it in this old fashioned Binghamton University Bank. Wait, who am I kidding? All of my loose change ends up in my jeans pockets, which then ends up lodged somewhere in my washing machine or dryer. Oh well. The look of this bank is great, though, I just want to put all my money in here to bust it out with some dynamite. Check it out here.

This weekend marks UniqueLA’s Summer show at Barker Hanger (more information on directions here). Anyone who has ever attended the event before knows how much fun it is. I met so many great people at their last event, very talented artists, crafters, and bakers. I HIGHLY recommend checking out this event if you’re in the Los Angeles area and want to support independent crafters and designers. At the last event, my friends and I came home with BAGS full of loot. My apartment looks all pretty now.
Here is a full list of their summer 2011 participants.

In magazines, it always looks so comfortable when you see guys sitting on guitar amps. Let me tell you, sitting on a guitar amp will make your ass go numb. It does not feel nice. You know what does, though? This Wooufall Amp Pillow.

For you pop culture lovers, you’re gonna love this State by State Celebrity Art! I totally forgot that Bette Midler was from Hawaii. See if you can name all the celebrities without looking at the complete list. I know I missed a few, so I’m going to go on Wikipedia and IMDB right now and brush up on my pop icons.

Two important things are going on this weekend in LA: Renegade LA at the Los Angeles State Historic Park and Carmageddon (for the record, I did not choose this name). I haven’t lived in LA long enough to know if this Carmageddon crap is as crazy as the news is making it out to be, but there are still ways that you can get to Renegade LA without waiting in traffic all day (listed below).
The Renegade Craft Fair returns to Los Angeles State Historic Park on July 16 + 17, 2011, from 11am – 7pm for our 3rd Annual Los Angeles Fair!! Check out LA’s greatest outdoor marketplace for handmade goods, featuring over 200 artists! The Renegade Craft Fair is always free-to-attend! Attendees can get involved with our hands-on crafting activities, check out our bar for some cold libations, and purchase food from terrific LA food trucks!
Check out the amazing vendors who will be selling at the Fair this year!

Also, according to their site:
Please note that the I-405 will be closed the weekend of July 16-17. While the Fair is not directly affected by the closure, it is a good idea to have an alternate route planned out in case there’s increased congestion on other freeways in the area. Check out alternate driving routes here. We also encourage you to take public transportation to the Fair! The park is less than a block away from the China Town Station on the Metro Gold Line.
